Leh sits at around 3,500 m, so the first day is for rest and acclimatization — take it slow, drink plenty of water, and if you feel up to it, a short evening walk in the market.

Before you pack

Important travel notes

  • Day 1 is for acclimatization — the altitude is real; take it slow and drink water.
  • High altitude can affect some travellers; consult your doctor before travelling if you have heart or respiratory conditions.
  • Carry warm clothing even in summer — nights at Pangong and Nubra are cold.
  • Roads and weather can force itinerary changes for safety, on the Khardung La and Shyok route especially.
  • Inner-line permits are required for Nubra, Pangong and Tso Moriri; we arrange them, so carry ID copies.

Optional experiences

These can be added to the package at an additional cost.

  • Double-humped camel safari at Hunder
  • Zanskar river rafting (seasonal)
  • Tso Moriri excursion
  • ATV or mountain biking
  • Oxygen cylinder on request

This package can be customised around

  • Number of nights and hotel or camp tier
  • Add Tso Moriri or Hanle
  • Bike-group logistics
  • Room occupancy
  • Extra acclimatization days
