Fly from Pune to Dehradun and drive down to Haridwar. Check in, and in the evening take the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri — lamps set on the water at dusk, and the traditional start to the yatra.

All four temples close for winter, usually around Diwali, and reopen after the snow clears. Exact opening and closing dates are announced each year, so the yatra can only run inside that window.

Important travel notes
- Carry valid government-issued photo identification, and register for the yatra as required by the Uttarakhand administration — we handle this for the group.
- Kedarnath involves a trek of roughly 16 km from Gaurikund, and Yamunotri roughly 6 km from Janki Chatti. Pony, doli and helicopter are available locally at your own cost.
- The temples stand at high altitude — Kedarnath at about 3,580 m and Badrinath at about 3,300 m. Allow for altitude and pace yourself.
- Anyone with a heart condition, breathing difficulty, or serious knee or mobility problems should consult a doctor before booking, and should plan on pony or helicopter for Kedarnath.
- Carry warm clothing, a raincoat, walking shoes with grip, and all regular medicines with prescriptions.
- Mountain roads close at short notice for landslides and weather; the itinerary may be resequenced or a dham dropped if the route is shut.
- Mobile network is unreliable above Uttarkashi and absent for stretches of the Kedarnath trek.
