    When a refund is due

A refund is due when we cancel or significantly change your journey and you choose not to travel; when a group departure does not meet its minimum number; when your cancellation falls in a window your schedule treats as partly or wholly refundable; or when a service you paid for was not delivered and could not be substituted.

It is not due for services delivered as described, for portions of a journey you chose not to use, or for costs a supplier will not release to us.

  2. 02

What is refunded, and what is deducted

We refund what we hold, less the cancellation charge that applies to your journey and less amounts our suppliers will not return. Every deduction is itemised on the refund statement we send you — you will see which component each one belongs to.

Government and third-party charges already paid on your behalf — visa and permit fees, consular charges, insurance premiums — are not refundable, because they are not ours to return.

Taxes already discharged to the authorities are adjusted or refunded only to the extent the law permits, and only once the adjustment is available to us.

    Who we refund, and how

Refunds are made to the person and the account that paid, in the currency paid, by the same route wherever possible — card payments back to the card, bank transfers back to the bank. We cannot redirect a refund to a third party.

Cash payments are refunded by bank transfer to an account in the payer's name. We will ask you for those details in writing.

Bank charges, card processing fees and foreign-exchange differences between the day you paid and the day we refund are not made good by us.

    How long it takes

We process a refund once the cancellation is confirmed in writing and every affected supplier has told us what they will release. Air tickets are usually the slowest step — an airline refund runs to the airline's own timeline, and we cannot forward money we have not yet received.

We will tell you what we are waiting on and give you a realistic date rather than a comfortable one, and we will update you if that date moves.

    Refunds where insurance applies

Where the reason for cancelling is one your travel insurance covers — illness, bereavement, a documented emergency — the money we cannot refund is what you claim from your insurer.

We will give you the invoices, the cancellation statement and the supplier confirmations your insurer asks for. Claim quickly; most policies have a short reporting window.

  6. 06

If you think a refund is wrong

Write to us within 30 days of receiving the refund statement, saying which line you disagree with. We will re-check it against the supplier's own confirmation and either correct it or show you the document it came from.

This policy is governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Pune, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction.

Waiting on a refund, or unsure what you are owed? Ask us for the statement — every deduction on it is itemised.
